Project Grihini course for 20-25 girls in Chabi, Mandla District, Madhya Pradesh, India

 

As per the need of the time, semi-literate or drop out girls too are admitted for this course, and accordingly the curriculum frequently is improved last years. This program has been proved a boon for the poor tribal girls and people have responded to this program every year with much enthusiasm.

 

Start date: Regular course every Year from July to May next year.

 

This project is meant as a vocational training for illiterate and semi-literate girls of the tribal districts of Mandla and Dindori. This project gives them training and motivation to become a good house-wife along with trainings to build up their life social and economically. This has helped very many girls to lead a standard family life and earn some income for their life.

 

The intended results of the project are to get 20-25 illiterate or semi-literate tribal girls equipped to lead a proper family life, who will bring up the family. The circumstances in the region are not so good:

- Health Condition of women is not satisfactory.

- Food security of the region only 5-6 months.

- Agriculture totally depend on rain.

- Communities are disorganized.

- Nutritional status of children and women is poor.

- Too many drop out girls from schools.

- Very poor health care system.

- Culturally rather rich.

- Sicknesses due to lack of awareness and unhygienic practices.

 

This training has various programs.They are taught etiquettes and morals and different aspects of personality and social growth. This training also gives them opportunity to learn cooking, Poultry, animal husbandry, tailoring, embroidery, needling, candle making, beautician course, social work, gardening, agriculture etc. All these trainings contribute to their personal growth and also help them to earn some income for the family during the free hours. In this way this program contributes to the social and economic growth of these girls and they become a part of social transformation.

 

Total amount required for this project € 8.200.00, financed by Cordaid, Stichting St. Anna and Namasté India together, the total costs for the course 2015/2016: € 14.300,00.
